As Vice President of People Services for Cox Communications’ Southwest Region, Larry Hofer provides leadership and strategic direction for human resources and development for over 4,300 employees in Arizona and Nevada. Over the past two years, Larry has helped transformed the region, resulting in Cox receiving Best Places to Work recognition in both states. Prior to joining the Southwest Region, Hofer was Vice President of the company’s Oklahoma Region. During his time in Oklahoma, Larry’s focus on strengthening ties with employees and building an atmosphere that exemplifies Cox’s core values led Cox Oklahoma being named one of the best performing regions in the country.
Prior to his time in Oklahoma, Larry served as Vice President of Human Resources for Cox San Diego where he earned a reputation as an innovative business partner and outstanding employee advocate. Hofer has also held leadership roles with Comcast, IBM, AT&T, Honeywell, Stanley Works, TCI, and Lexmark International.
Hofer graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial organizational psychology. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in demography from Western Washington University and a master’s of Labor and Relations and HR from Michigan State University. Hofer is a recent graduate of the CTAMU program from Harvard Business School, a graduate of the NAMIC Executive Program at UCLA Anderson School of Business, and holds a professional certification in Human Resources (PHR).
Hofer has been actively involved in several non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, Asian Business Association and Neighborhood House.
He and his wife, Kari, have two children in the Scottsdale Unified School District. Their older daughter is a sophomore at Desert Mountain High School and the younger daughter attends Cheyenne Traditional.
