About the Hall of Excellence

Since 2013, the SUSD Foundation has recognized 8 individuals each year who have gone above and beyond in maintaining integrity and innovation in the classroom as a student or teacher, in the administrative office or by attending Scottsdale schools and going on to great accomplishments that inspire current and future students to continue and complete their educational paths.

SUSD Foundation inducts 2 alumni into the Hall of Excellence with a fundraiser gala to celebrate their accomplishments, as well as those of the 6 current district Hall of Excellence Honorees. The event raises funds for continued student and teacher grants.

What It Means to Be a Hall of Excellence Inductee

Many alumni credit SUSD for providing necessary resources that put them on a path to success, or exposing them to leadership that shaped their mindsets, or providing unique programs that were inspirational diving boards into their career choice.

While these alumni have taken many different paths in their careers since graduating from SUSD, including politics, sports, medicine, business and entertainment, they all have a common belief that quality education was a pivotal piece of their ability to become successful and share in a passion to inspire…inspire students to appreciate the educational resources they are given and take charge of their future, and inspire community members to support organizations that help students and teachers be their very best even in the worst of economic times.

The two annual Hall of Excellence inductees are memorialized via name placards in the SUSD district office Hall of Excellence with their recognition year, and are given a mounted and framed certificate signed by the president of the foundation and district superintendent the night of the gala. Their photo and biography are listed in the event program and they are mentioned in the foundation’s social media in publicity coverage leading up to the event. The event is professionally photographed and all final images will be sent for their publicity team or social media use.

There is no cost to become a Hall of Excellence inductee,
but we recognize your time is valuable and consider that an investment itself.
